Third Grade Happenings

The students were partnered together and asked to write an expository explaining what they would tell a new student so they can have a good year at Buck Lake. The kids did such a fabulous job on their stories, we are going to publish their work! Tomorrow we will make our illustrations!
Fast at work editing their paper

Varun and Aneesha did a fabulous job working together on their essay

I had all of the kids bring their computers to a cluster of desks. Every 4 minutes the students rotates clockwise to edit their peer's essays. They learned the importance of revising their work!
Here's a sneaky peak at how we learned dialogue. The kids worked with a partner to come up with the dialogue two turkeys would have before Thanksgiving. They then made paper bag turkeys and read their dialogue to the class.

Last week after our spelling test, I read the kids, "The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything." The kids acted out the motions as I read aloud.
